Dr. Zainul Huda is Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Majmaah University (MU), Saudi Arabia. He joined MU in Nov. 2012. Prior to joining MU, he had been working as Professor, Dept. of Mech. Eng, King Saud University during March 2010-Aug 2012; and as Professor, Dept. Mech. Eng, University of Malaya, Malaysia during Feb 2007-Feb 2010.
Prof Zainul Huda's teaching interests include Manufacturing Processes, Materials Engineering, Mechanics of Materials, Materials Removal/Machining Processes, System Dynamics and Control, Design against Failure, Materials Selection in Design, and Metallurgy. He possess over 30 years of academic experience in materials/mechanical/manufacturing engineering at university level in Malaysia, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.
Prof Z. Huda earned Ph.D in Materials Technology from Brunel University, London, UK in 1992. He is also a postgraduate in Manufacturing Engineering (B-Grade) (GPA: 3.06) from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology. He obtained B.Eng (Metallurgy) degree securing 1st Class 2nd position from University of Karachi in 1976.
Prof Z. Huda is the author/co-author of 102 publications; which includes 3 books and 99 research/review papers in the field of engineering published by reputed publishers from USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Korea, and Singapore. His publications include 25 ISI-indexed international refereed journals publications. He has also been cited over 50 times in SCOPUS-indexed journals. His research interests include designing materials and manufacturing systems for quality-assured engineering applications, mechanical/ deformation behavior of aerospace materials, metal forming, heat treatment and microstructural control for better performance. He has also successfully completed 20+ industrial consultancy/R&D projects in the areas of failure analysis and manufacturing. He is the developer of Toyota Corolla car's wheel-hub's metallurgy first-ever implemented in Pakistan at Transmission Engineering Industries Ltd, Karachi. He is the recipient of UK-Singapore Science (Research) Collaboration Award by the British High Commission, Singapore during 2006. He is also the recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Appreciation Certificate awarded by VC, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia for Patent. His biography has been published in Who's Who in the World by MARQUIS WHO's WHO, USA. He has delivered guest/invited lectures on engineering in England, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Pakistan.
