Wind Energy on Dis
Wind Energy on Distributed Generation
Even with the widespread access to energy provided by
government policies, many communities still have poor
supply of electricity or suffer from the lack of that. The
production of energy through alternative sources, besides the
contribution to the clean energy production also provides the
installation of small networks in remote communities or the
integration of the energy generated by alternative sources to
existing networks, providing greater reliability and security
on electrical energy supply, as various power sources work
together to attend the power demand in peak periods or even
outside them. Power generation by wind turbines has been
widely used in the composition of micro-networks [4],
usually associated with photovoltaic panels [6]-[8], forming
hybrid systems that are more robust than single-source
systems [9]. Over the last decade, wind generation in Spain
has experienced an extraordinary growth, continuously
increasing its contribution to demand supply [10].
