Projects and Responsibilities

The Unix Project

*Was part of the Sun Solaris 8.0 deployment team

*The project was the foundation of switching GOSI from the main frame system to client server

*It spanned for 2 months and was used for 8 years until it was replaced by a Linux system

Computer Associate project

*Handled the project RFQ and RFP

*The project Included the purchase of several of CA's product, namely: Help desk, Network and System monitor, Assets Manager, Software delivery, and remote control

*The project ran for one year and was the sole administrator for those systems for 8 years until it was taken by the development team.

GOSI Network

*Handled the project RFI, RFQ and RFP with 2 other colleagues

*This project was the foundation of the GOSI network, installing, connecting and configuring

the network devices.

*The project also included the deployment of the leased lines connecting the branches to the

  the main offices

*GOSI network still relay on the devices and configuration done till this day

*Most of the GOSI branches was visited for the purpose of this project

*Was the GOSI network administrator for WAN and LAN

Juniper Networks

*After a demonstration from Juniper Networks on their network accelerator we adapted

  it in our network which gave an average compression of 90% to the network traffic

*The devices installed on all GOSI WAN links is still in use (some upgrades were done)

*The devices are used also as QoS device

*Was the Administrator for these devices

QoS

*Designing the QoS levels of service for all GOSIs applications

Dial-up

*Dial-up analog lines were employed in a project to serve as a backup to the main lines were

  the network device dial in the main offices automatically if disconnection is encountered

New Offices

*When new offices were opened all around the kingdom, our team was responsible of buildingnetwork from ground up while connecting it to the main offices

*Been into most of GOSI offices old and new which are 32 for the purpose of installation,

  upgrade or problem solving

Internet and Web hosting

*In house web hosting and  internet connectivity to employees were adapted with partial

  involvement in the project

VSAT

*This Project was made to replace the old dialup backup lines, with a more reliable, faster, andSTC independent technology

*The project used VSAT technology to connect branches with the main offices with transparentfailover mechanism

*With one of my colleagues we handled the project's RFI, RFQ, and RFP then installed,

  administered, and monitored those links

*The project lasted for 6 months and had been used until 2009

Show Room

*involved in a project to provide the Infrastructure Department with the latest projection

  screens for showing the GOSI guests a demonstration of the organization's achievement

Data CentreRecabling

*The project was aimed to change the unorganized connection running between the network

  devices and the server clusters

*Each zone was designated a specific colour of cables

*Handled the RFP of the project with one of my colleagues

*It was crucial to finish the project in a  short time since all of GOSI systems were disconnectedthis was accomplished in 1 week in Al-Hajj vacation,

Monitoring Screens

*Implementation of a project in the network department to display the live status of the network

  showing active and non-active nodes with meaningful colors through big screens TVs

*Making an auto program to flip through multiple windows for more informative display

PRTG

*Adapting and configuring the PRTG which is a network monitoring software to get live

  and historical reports of the network's traffic and utilization

Congestion Avoidance

*Using the tools in hand to avoid congestions and plan ahead

AL-Daleel

*Programmed a PHP website integrated with an access database to function as a static

  corporal address book

*Any GOSI employee can be searched with their name or part of their name to find their

  extension and location

*Handled the Projects RFI, RFP, RFQ

*Designed the layout of the device pools, regions, call patterns, and schematics

*Helped in the integration between the system and the active directory and the exchange server

*planned for the phone, extension assignments and their delivery
