Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to find out the electric and magnetic fields which exist in the medium by solving Maxwell's equations. The solution of this problem is facilitated by the introduction of the polarization potential. We shall now see that the whole electromagnetic field may be described by means of a single vector SHAPE * MERGEFORMAT
