Carpenter – Edwards porcine valve
The carpenter – Edwards pericardial valve consists of three pieces of pericardium mounted completely within the wire stent to reduce potential abrasion between the dacron- covered frame and the leaflets .(113)
Beall –surgitool valve
The Beall – surgitool valve has not been used in the aortic position, two series of the Beall valve have been manufactured : the 103/104 series has teflon disc and curved struts while the 105/106 Series has a pyrolytic earbon disc and straigh sruts .
Eccentric monocuspid valves : Bjork – shiley valve
The Bjork – Shiley prosthesis is the most common type of tilting disc valve design , and it can be used in the aortic, mitral or tricuspid position .(126)
Mogovern valve
Mogovern valve is a standard ball and cage format which incorporates two rows of interlocking mechanical teeth , these teeth are used for inserting the valve and are activated by removing a special valve holder once the valve has been correctly located in the prepared tissue annulus .
