Dr. Nadia Badr El-Sayed

Associate Professor of Applied and Inorganic Chemistry, focusing on monitoring , assessment, management and treatment for hazardous inorganic wastes using modern technologies as water quality modeling  as well as bio and nano remediation processes.

Current Position

    Assistant Prof. in Chemistry Department at Faculty of Science and Human studies ,  El-Magmaa University, Saudi Arabia (2007- now)

Education

- Ph.D. from Wayne State University, USA, 2002:  Modeling and simulation of mercury species in water and sediments of Detroit River using Finite Element Method),  

- MS.C. , Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, Egypt, 1994 (Chemical studies of Copper species in Marine Waters).

- BS.C. Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, Egypt, 1987

Scholarships and Sabbaticals

- Training course on “Determination Crude Oil and Heavy Metals in Marine Environment using GCMS and ICP” held in Monaco, France, September – October , 1993.

- Scholarship from Egyptian Government to study Ph.D in USA (1997-2002)

- Study two semesters of English courses in English Language Institute (ELI), Wayne state university (April – September, 1997)

Professional Skills

 - Research assistant from April 1997-July 2002 inHazardous Inorganic Waste Management Program, Wayne State University, USA

      - Research assistant in the project of “Modeling of Mercury Species in water and  sediments of Detroit River”. (2000-2002). 

- Sabbatical mission to TEXAS A & M University, USA (GERG Institute )for extraction OF PCB’s, Pesticides, Aliphatic and Aromatic hydrocarbon as well as heavy metals from sediments of all Egyptian lakes ( January -February, 2005

Excellent experience in dealing with computer (Microsoft office, Matlab and Minitab statistical softwares, photoshop
