Since January 2009- Now Acting Head of Civil Engineering Department, College of Engineering, Majmaah University, Saudi Arabia
o Acted as the head of the department and teaching several undergraduate courses, in addition to following:
§ Head of the Study plan committee to prepare the new academic study plan for the college. (four departments)
§ Establishing the Civil Engineering labs (5 million SR)
§ Officer of Academic guidance unit 2010.
§ In charge of the college’s registration and time-table committee 2010-2011,
§ Head of GIS and Remote Sensing unit.
§ In charge of preparing the college contracts with other universities.
§ Member of the board of directors of the College.
§ Organizer of a workshop about “The engineering study plan between the academic accreditation and labor market needs”
Responsibilities
ü Revise the study plans of several national and international engineering colleges and set the strategy for preparing the college plan
ü Managing and monitoring plans for preparing the new study plan of the college
ü Preparing the course description for the Surveying and Transportation Track for civil engineering department.
ü Ensuring the validity of plans in the four departments, with the national academic standards, and to meet the ABIT requirements.
ü Direct contact with the referees of the plans at all stages.
ü Preparing and editing the final study plan (1050 pages)
ü Preparing and writing the yearly final college report to the University.
ü Development of the College Strategic Master Plan for the next 5 years.
ü Selecting the suitable machines and instruments for 6 civil engineering labs.
ü Setting the Master plan for the two scientific units.
ü Selecting the topics for the workshop and leading the recommendation and advertising committees.
2007- 2008 Expert in Strategic Planning Unit
Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), EGYPT
o Acted as a Strategic planning expert for:
§ Setting the quality framework for the engineering, tourism, and commercial sectors.
§ Participated with the SPU in setting their annual plans.
§ Follow and revise the report of the education system in South Valley and Assiut regions, Egypt, (2008).
§ As part-time work in “Greater Cairo Region-strategic urban development plans (2050) Project”.
§ Engineering Education Sector Planning Project (2008-2009),
Responsibilities
ü In the three sectors (engineering, tourism, and commercial) I was responsible for designing the plan, and sample size for the targets ( students, labor market, institutes and colleges, graduates, etc.). (Quantitative analysis).
ü Participated in designing questioners for labor market, teaching/administrative staff, and students. (Qualitative analysis).
ü Setting priorities for study and managing the teams of data collection.
ü Made the statistical analysis for the studies.
ü Conducted a comprehensive sector analysis, especially for the engineering education in Egypt.
ü Responsible for reviewing the input, process, outputs and outcomes of each project. That helped in writing the quality chapter and the final report.
In addition to:
ü Support the sector in national meetings discussing via attending sessions for capacity building with SPU.
ü Negotiated different issues with UNESCO team.
ü Participated in updating parts of the NARS for engineering sector.
ü Participated with the SPU in setting their annual plans.
ü Participated in setting and modifying the quality framework of several projects such as: “Qena, Sohag and Alexandria”
o Assisting the OECD/WB Mission in reviewing the “Higher Education in Egypt, Country Review Report”. (19-30, October 2008).
§ Cooperating with the OECD team during their visit to Assiut University, Sohag Univ, Bani Swief Univ. Arabic academy in Alexandria, and 2 private institutions.
§ Gathered information to write the chapters on socio-economic contexts, access, external efficiency and research and development.
Responsibilities
ü Leading the study activities and managing team of data collection that is ended with the quality and the labor market chapters in the final report.
ü Participating in writing the main report about the OECD visit to Egypt.
ü Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the SPU staff.
ü Gathered information that assists in writing the chapters on socio-economic contexts, access, external efficiency and research and development.
ü Member of organizing committee for international conferences and workshops.
o Task Force Group, SPU, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), EGYPT (June – Sept. 2008).
